ICRAVE Oneness Wholeness

Ancient Jewish mysticism taught that Heaven is closeness to God, and hell is distance from God.

  • Heaven wouldn’t just be closeness to God, it would be Oneness with God.
    • In fact, it would be perfect Oneness with God.
  • And hell wouldn’t just be distance from God; it would be anything that is separate from God.

“I am the one who comes from what is whole, I was given from the things of my Father. Therefore, I say to you that if one is whole, one will be filled with light, but if one is divided, then one will be filled with darkness.”

Gospel of Thomas

Go from an experience of separation to wholeness.

  • The word holy actually comes from the word whole.
  • You can’t be a little bit whole.
    • Your allegiance must be undivided, or else you’re divided.

“The Kingdom of the Father is spread out upon the earth, and people do not see it.”

Gospel of Thomas
  • As awareness returns, you wake up to the reality of the Kingdom, and you have the knowledge that you are always safe at home.
  • Wake up to Heaven

a thing that is actually experienced or seen

What will truly satisfy you is not a symbol of reality, but an experience of reality.

  • Words are but symbols, twice removed from reality.
    • And when you think about it, how is a symbol of a symbol ever going to make you happy?
  • The only thing that will make you happy is the experience of what you really are.

What’s really important isn’t what you know, but what you do with what you know.  The phase of application.

  • It’s only through disciplined application that the practitioner can enter the glorious phase of experience.
  • There is no answer; only an experience.
    • Seek only this, and do not let theology delay you.
  • “An untrained mind can accomplish nothing.”
    • Until the mind is trained, you’re just spinning your wheels.
  • Repetition isn’t just all right, it’s mandatory.
  • You can’t hear right-minded ideas too much.
    • It takes time for them to sink into the deep canyons of your unconscious mind.

If and when you get into the habit of remembering the truth in difficult situations, it becomes almost second nature for you to apply.
