ICRAVE Well-Functioning Chakras

The root chakra is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability in your life.

  • When this chakra is open/energy flowing, we feel safe, at home in the world, and fearless.

A healthy sacral chakra is essential for well-being

  • Including sexual responses, reproduction, a balanced sense of self, and the ability to earn a living.

A well-functioning solar plexus chakra brings the ability to deal with ideas and feelings effectively.

  • It may help provide protection against other influences, such as genetic tendencies.

The heart chakra provides the true understanding that people are interconnected and become aware that all people are interdependent.

  • At the heart, the aim is harmony and becoming one in a way that fully acknowledges that there is no true gain at the other’s expense.
  • This ability of the heart to embrace unity brings another gift: Intuition.
    • Living from the heart chakra strengthens and builds intuition in a way that can only contribute to the good, because it has the welfare of the other at its heart and recognizes the unity of self and the other.

The throat chakra is unique because it has “a voice.”  The energy at the throat finds expression through the individual’s voice.

  • When listening to the qualities of the voice, one can become sensitive to the energy of the throat, which reflects the qualities of the chakra system.
    • In this way the throat chakra conveys a great deal of information about the individual.

The sixth chakra is the “third eye,” which is often regarded as a magic eye with the special ability of second sight.

  • When left to evolve naturally, the “third eye” chakra offers enlightening input into the normal process of individual integration and evolution, bringing greater sensitivity and awareness.
  • In some cases, as the “third eye” chakra opens or clears, the abilities of intuition, including clairvoyance, become more pronounced.

The seventh or “crown chakra is most closely associated with the finest energy, allowing only the purest, most spiritual input into the body.

  • Like the throat and sixth chakras, the crown is influenced by the dominant chakra or chakras below.
  • This plays a part in controlling exactly how much energy is absorbed at the crown, how it is used, and how it is perceived, or understood by the individual.

Above the crown chakra is another rarely spoken of chakra.  The eight chakra, directly above the body, exerts great power in linking the body with the higher dimensions.

Meditation provides a route for widening and deepening one’s outlook

  • A way to pursue physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual growth.
  • The aim of the meditation is to help one clear all the chakras and allow them to open as far as possible.

Move the Light

  • Focus the mind on the base chakra.  Continue to concentrate on the base chakra, then mentally switch it “on.”
  • Once the chakra is a light, move it up the body, to the center of the forehead.
  • Or picture an image of the body, then watch the light move up in it.
  • When the light reaches the forehead, stop.
    • Hold the light outside the body, and focus on it.
    • Avoid focusing with the eyes.
  • Concentrate on the light from a point in the center of the forehead.
    • Allow whatever thoughts come to mind to do so.
    • Control has no place.
    • If one’s thoughts wander to the laundry or some equally mundane task, allow that.
    • If a past or future event comes to mind, allow that too.
    • At all times, allow the movement of thoughts to be fluid, and let the flow continue at will.
    • Remember, desire can be dangerous.
  • During completion, turn off the light.  This is a very important step.
