An old farmer had an old horse for tilling his field. One day the horse escaped into the hills. When his neighbors sympathized with him over his bad luck, he replied, “Bad luck, good luck, who knows?”
A week later the horse returned with a herd of wild horses. This time the neighbors congratulated him on his good luck. His reply: “Good luck, bad luck, who knows.”
When the father’s son attempted to tame one of the wild horses, he fell and broke his leg. Everyone commiserated over this bad luck. Not the farmer. He responded “Bad luck, good luck, who knows.”
Some weeks later, the army marched into the village and conscripted every able bodied youth. When they saw his broken leg they let the son off. Was that good luck, bad luck; who knows?

“I’ve lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.” – Mark Twain
With every change in our mind-body-energy field, we see the world differently and must work with the opportunities and challenges that these changes pose. Although we may not be able to change external events, we do have the ability to choose how we interpret them.
Reality is subjective
- Your state of mind determines what you perceive and think, how you interpret your experience and what you draw to you.
- Your state of mind is at the center of a version of yourself, and your behavior is a natural expression of it.
