- A lot of the unhappiness that people experience is because they believe it is due to the conditions of what is happening at this moment.
- But in most cases, it is not the conditions of the situation that causes the unhappiness, it is the mind telling you something about this moment that causes the unhappiness.

The next time you are about to get upset in a certain situation, observe.
- What is it that causes me to be irritated, angry, upset?
- Is it the situation or is it my mind telling me that this shouldn’t be happening.
The ego is very good at misinterpreting reality, and it believes its stories.
- It is a source of great suffering.
- Once you recognize that, you can experiment in your own life (when you feel upset arising).
Watch your mind – be aware of what your mind is doing.
- Be able to be the observer of your mind, so that the mind is not controlling you.
- This is how you eliminate stress and suffering.
