ICRAVE Meditation that is Right for Me

By its extraordinary, hidden power, meditation can become the route that leads us into a wider, deeper world – or to the further reaches of this one.

  • Meditation is the path that leads us to our innermost self.

Meditation is a place where we can find the most complete knowledge of God (or the force some call God) and our self, and where we learn how the two are both the same and different.

  • Meditation techniques can bring the kind of “knowing” that is often called “intuition.”

It is not possible to analyze your meditation journey while you are traveling.

  • Like any journey, it is important to enjoy and experience it to the fullest while traveling.
  • It is not until later that the effects of the journey reveal themselves in full.

The trust that the process will occur, and produce results, is the key to enabling it to do exactly that.

  • As ever, doubt is eminently effective as self-fulfilling prophecy.
  • Trust is the key to a successful outcome.

Practicing meditation is not about seeking exotic experiences, but about finding balance, harmony, and true joy in life.

  • Each has a different journey.
  • Swapping experiences can be useful.
  • Judging them is always destructive and impossible.

Practicing any form of mediation will ultimately breathe new life into you and bring you closer to your life purpose.

Find the meditation that is right for you.  One particular meditation may suit you the best to increase your life force.

  • Practicing effortless presence – the art of just being.
  • Insight meditation – self-observation by focusing on the deep connection between mind and body.
  • Mindfulness – The art of being aware of the present moment through non-judgmental observation of your thoughts and feelings, your breath or bodily sensation.
    • However, it is considered more a philosophy to be continually practiced than a discreet activity to calm oneself
  • Loving-Kindness – a way to increase compassion.
    • It is essentially a method to cultivate love for yourself and others.
    • It increases serenity by decreasing hostility and resentment.
  • Transcendental meditation – allows your body to settle into a deep state of relaxation while the mind remains alert.
    • TM allows for the powerful release of accumulated stress and returns you to a state of wholeness, wellness, and happiness.
  • Concentration inside visualization – using silent focus, a state of clarity and calmness are achieved, leading to intuitive thoughts.
  • Christian prayers – directed outward.  Promotes a feeling of calm and focuses the mind, setting the stage for a more powerful connection to God or self.
    • Contemplative prayer is a repetition of chants or thoughts (rosary).
  • Guided meditations – guides you through a relaxing series of visualizations.
    • Some focus on breathing and use imagery, while others focus on the sounds of nature.
    • Tours to tranquility.
